During the winter months my hair always needs more moisture and attention. Every year I do a homemade whipped shea butter recipe. I use this special mixture to seal my hair after a fresh wash or a deep conditioner. Homemade whipped Butters are mainly heavy body cremes that you can use to moisturize your skin or hair. Here is my whipped shea butter recipe.

Ingredients

  • 180 gr raw unrefined shea butter
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp argan oil
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp jojoba oil
  • 1 tbsp castor oil

You can use any oils you desire. There is no wrong or right. It Create your own blend with your favourite oils.

Instructions: whipped shea butter

Break the shea butter into small pieces and place it in a bowl. I use a fork to do that. Boil a pot of water and place your bowl with the shea butter inside the pot to create a double boiler.

Use a fork to crush the shea butter, however don’t let it melt, just soften it a bit. Use a hand mixer and whip the shea butter until it is fluffy. Add in the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly with the hand mixer until it gets a creamy consistency. Put your whipped shea butter mixture into a container and volià.
