Are you looking for a sulfate free conditioner? Maybe this conditioner is the perfect one for you. I have got some emails where I was asked if I could do a review about Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Conditioner. As already mentioned in one of my preview posts, there are no hair care brands that you must have. However, there are some sulfate free conditioner out there that are worth to give it a try. Today, I am doing a review about Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Conditioner for thick and curly hair as I have heard some great things about this conditioner. I am looking forward to seeing how it will work on my hair. This is not a sponsored post.
Review – Sulfate Free Conditioner
I have tried the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk and did a review about how much I love this product. Now, I was ready to try this sulfate free conditioner to see how it works on my hair. I would consider my hair as kinky 4 c and b hair in some areas. In addition to this, I have thin hair. The product claim says it is for thick and curly hair. Moreover, it is also color safe. The bright coral color of the bottle looks great. The product itself feels quite thick and milky.
This sulfate free conditioner does not have any harsh ingredients. There is a section on the bottle that lists everything that is not in the product like: No Sulfate, No Parabens, No Phthalates, No Paraffin, No Gluten, No Propylene Glycol, No Mineral Oil, No Synthetic Fragrance, No Synthetic Color, No DEA and No Animal Testing. In addition to this, it has a pump bottle and the fragrance of the Curl & Shine Conditioner smells like bubble gum, not too strong or heavy.

Product Description
This lightweight daily conditioner restores moisture and smoothes dry hair cuticles. No more knots, snarls and tangles. Tames frizz as it defines and enhances natural curls.
The Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Conditioner contains:
- Coconut oil: Hydrates and protects hair while reducing breakage.
- Silk protein: Smoothes hair for a soft, silky feel.
- Neem oil: Controls frizz while adding brilliant shine.
Suggested Using
After shampooing, apply generously and comb through for even distribution. Leave in for 3 minutes. Rinse. Style as desired.
How I Used it:
Before washing my hair, I wet my hair with water and a bit of this conditioner just to soften it. Then I follow up as suggested by the brand. After shampooing, I apply the conditioner on my hair and detangle it. I let it sit for approx. 3 minutes and then rinse it out.
Would I Recommend This?
While the product was sitting on my hair it felt immediately soft but this feeling changed when I rinsed it out. My hair felt brittle and dry. It had stripped my hair of all it’s oils. The end result was knotty and tangled hair.
Would I recommend it? I have used this product for some months now. At the beginning, it was okay but not awesome like other products of Shea Moisture. Now, after several tries I think this product is not for me. I would say you should give it a try to see if it works on your hair as every hair is different. I will give the Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Conditioner another try as a leave-in conditioner to see how it works. However, I won’t use it as a rinse out conditioner again.
