The dry hair situation is one reason why people go back to relax their hair. However, I have done my research and I have some answers for you. Why your type 4 natural hair is constantly dry
1. You are lazy

2. You are not using the correct products
Using harsh chemical products can make your natural hair rough and prone to breakage. If you are wondering which chemicals you should avoid, check out my post about Bad Hair Product Ingredients . Don’t buy all the fancy and expensive products on the market that promise you to grow long and healthy hair. Spend more time in doing your research, read labels to look for the ingredients and invest in quality products. Products that are not doing anything for your hair for a period of at least 3 months are not worth keeping them. Pass them to somebody else. Here are some posts with product recommendations:

3. You are not using enough natural hair products
Do you follow the product description regarding how much product you should use on your hair? In most cases you should not do that. Your type 4 natural hair is constantly dry because your hair needs more than a dime size of product. To moisturize your hair, put it into sections. Sometimes, I am too lazy to do that, but I know it works better if I have at least 4 sections. It is important that the entire hair receives equal amounts of nourishment. Start from the tips and work your way all down to the roots. Use a generous amount for that.
4. You are layering to many products
Putting too many products on your natural hair will not only cause a build up, it will also weigh your hair down and leave it greasy. Furthermore, it will not allow your hair to absorb the moisture. That does not mean that you have to stop doing the LOC method. The LOC or LCO method is a great way to lock in the moisture, however you also have to refresh your hair regularly.
5. You are not wearing protective hairstyles
The concept of a protective hairstyle is to preserve your hair from damage and dryness. It also reduces ongoing manipulation of your natural hair and promote healthy hair. In addition to this, it protects the ends of your hair, reducing knots and tangles. If you are looking for inspirations click on the link: 8 Cute No Heat Summer Protective Hairstyles
